Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. Who We Are

Student in the Netherlands ("we", "us", "our") is an advisory service operated by Milan Magyar and Andrei, helping international students navigate their move to the Netherlands. We can be reached at studentinthenetherlands@gmail.com.

By purchasing any of our services or accessing our website, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.

2. Our Services

We currently offer two plans, available to students moving to Groningen, The Hague, or Delft:

  • The Guide (€149.90 one-time): A complete arrival playbook covering After Acceptance, Deep Dive, BSN & Daily Essentials, and Life, Health & Admin Completion. Includes one monthly group call with our team, priority access to The Setup at launch, and the option to book paid viewings on request.
  • The Program (€349.90 upfront + housing success fee): Everything in The Guide, plus 2 personal 1-on-1 calls per month, a private WhatsApp group with our team, full housing search service, and the viewing service at no extra charge. A success fee applies whenever we attend a viewing for a property and you subsequently sign a rental contract for it — see Section 4 for full details.

Guide students may book a viewing on request at any time. The fee is €20 for properties within 10 minutes of our base, €30 for properties further away, with a €5 surcharge for requests made with less than 24 hours' notice.

Program students receive the viewing service at no charge for every viewing — whether the property was sourced by us or found by the student themselves. No per-viewing fees apply. However, a housing success fee is due whenever we attend a viewing for a property and the student subsequently signs a rental contract for it, regardless of who found the property — see Section 3 and Section 4.

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any service at any time. If a purchased service is discontinued, we will notify you and offer a proportional refund.

3. Payment Terms

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your card details. By completing a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service in addition to ours.

The Guide is a flat one-time payment of €149.90. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no hidden fees. You receive access to all course materials and group calls upon payment.

The Program is €349.90 upfront. This covers all features of The Guide plus the additional services listed above. A separate housing success fee applies when we have attended a viewing for a property and you subsequently sign a rental contract for it — regardless of whether we or you found the property. This fee is calculated as half a month's rent, with a minimum charge of €350.10 — meaning the total minimum you will pay us (upfront + success fee) is always €700. If you sign a rental contract for a property for which we did not attend a viewing, no success fee is owed.

Viewing fees for Guide students are charged per request as described in Section 2. Viewings for Program students are always free. All prices are in Euros (EUR) and inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

4. Housing Search: Success Fee & Non-Payment Consequences

When you enrol in The Program and we have attended a viewing for a rental property on your behalf, and you subsequently sign a rental contract for that property, you become contractually obligated to pay the housing success fee as defined in Section 3. This applies regardless of whether we sourced the property or you found it yourself — the trigger is that we attended a viewing for the property and you signed a contract for it.

Once a rental contract is signed, we will send a success fee invoice to your registered email address. The invoice is due within 14 days of the date the rental contract is signed.

Non-payment penalty. If you sign a rental contract for a property for which we attended a viewing and subsequently fail to pay the agreed success fee within the specified period, the following consequences apply:

  • An immediate contractual penalty (boetebeding) of €5,000 becomes due, in addition to the original outstanding success fee.
  • We reserve the right to initiate legal proceedings or engage a debt collection agency to recover all amounts owed, including the success fee, the contractual penalty, and all associated legal and collection costs.
  • You will be liable for all extrajudicial collection costs (buitengerechtelijke incassokosten) calculated in accordance with the Dutch Extrajudicial Collection Costs Act (Wet incassokosten).
  • We reserve the right to report the matter to relevant consumer protection and rental market authorities.

This clause is a material part of the agreement between you and Student in the Netherlands, and by purchasing The Program you explicitly acknowledge and accept these terms. The purpose of this clause is to protect the time, effort, and resources invested by our team in attending viewings and facilitating your housing process.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on both The Guide and The Program. If you are not satisfied within 7 days of your purchase, contact us at studentinthenetherlands@gmail.com and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.

After the 7-day period, refunds are issued at our discretion in exceptional circumstances. The housing success fee component of The Program is non-refundable once a signed rental contract has been secured on your behalf.

6. Calls and Scheduling

A monthly group call is included in both The Guide and The Program. The call takes place once per calendar month and is open to all active students on either plan. Parents or guardians are welcome to join.

Students on The Program additionally receive two personal 1-on-1 calls per month. These calls are 30 minutes each and must be booked in advance through our scheduling platform. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Missed appointments without notice may result in the loss of that session.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your schedule and time zone. Call contents are confidential and not shared with third parties.

7. Intellectual Property

All course content, guides, checklists, templates, and materials provided through our services are the intellectual property of Student in the Netherlands. You may use these materials for your personal move to the Netherlands only.

You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, resell, or share our paid content with others without our written permission. Sharing login credentials or purchased materials is a breach of these terms and may result in access being revoked without refund.
